The Tiger I needs little introduction, the legendary 88mm gun-toting AFV being the subject of countless war tales. Early production versions of the Tiger I were rushed from the factories by the end of 1942, bound for the harsh realities of the Eastern Front and the conflict with Soviet Russia, as well as the sweltering climes of North Africa.
On early production versions of the Tiger maximum turret traverse was limited to 6 degrees per second, whilst on later versions a selectable high speed traverse gear was added. Thus, the turret could be rotated 360 degrees at up to 6 degrees per second in low gear independent of engine rpm (same as on early production versions), or up to 19 degrees per second with the high-speed setting and engine at 2,000 rpm, and at over 36 degrees per second at the maximum allowable engine speed of 3,000 rpm.
Highly detailed plastic model. Features include metal barrel, full body figure, individual track links, and workable suspension. Can be built in multiple ways: Standard Tiger I early production, Michael Wittmann's Command Tiger, or Standard Command Tiger I early production.
