The Hurricane Mk IIB 'Reconnaissance' was a variant of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter, adapted for reconnaissance missions during World War II. Equipped with additional fuel tanks for extended range and reconnaissance cameras, this version was designed to gather intelligence from within enemy territory.
This aircraft played an important role in providing valuable intelligence, especially in North Africa, and other theatres where long-range missions were crucial. Its rugged design and reliability made it well-suited for harsh conditions, helping the Allies maintain an edge in gathering battlefield information.
Arma Hobby's 1/48 scale model kit (representing 'trop' i.e. tropical versions of the Hurricane) can be built in a couple of different ways, as a Mk II, or Mk IIb, and includes three disparate colour schemes, reflecting the diverse groups of fliers to use the type: RAF, Indians, and Poles. Included are 3D printed parts, for maximum accuracy, decals, and masks.
