The Focke-Wulf FW 190A-8 was a German fighter aircraft used extensively during World War II, known for its versatility and robust design. Introduced in 1944, the A-8 variant was powered by a BMW 801D-2 radial engine, making it highly effective in low to medium-altitude combat. It was heavily armed, typically carrying two 20mm MG 151 cannons and four 13mm MG 131 machine guns (or heavier armament), making it a formidable opponent against Allied aircraft. The FW 190A-8 saw action across various fronts, particularly in defending against Allied bombers.
This beautifully-detailed kit from Border Models can be built up in four different configurations, recreating one of the R2, R6, R7, or R8 variants of the FW190A-8. PE and clear parts include extra armour and thickened glass (for the R7 and R8 models); rocket launchers for the R6 also feature. Brass gun barrels for the MK108 cannon are included, as well as four different decorative schemes.
