The Flak 36, formally known as the 8.8 cm Flak 36, was a German anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun used extensively during World War II. Initially designed to target aircraft at high altitudes, the Flak 36 became famous for its versatility and effectiveness against both aerial and ground targets. It was equipped with a 360-degree traverse and could be elevated between -3 and +85 degrees, allowing it to engage a wide range of targets. The gun fired 88mm shells at a high velocity, making it particularly lethal against armored vehicles. It became renowned for its role in anti-tank operations, where it proved capable of penetrating the armor of even the most robust Allied tanks.
