The 'Möbelwagen' was a German self-propelled anti-aircraft tank developed during World War II, based on the Panzer IV chassis. Officially designated as the '3.7 cm Flak auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen IV (sf)', it was equipped with a 3.7 cm FlaK 43 anti-aircraft gun, designed to provide mobile air defence for German ground forces. The vehicle featured foldable armoured side panels that could be lowered for a wide range of gun elevation, allowing it to engage both low-flying aircraft and, to some extent, ground targets.
Introduced in 1944, the Möbelwagen was a stopgap solution while more advanced anti-aircraft tanks like the Wirbelwind and Ostwind were under development. Although it offered decent protection and firepower, its open-top design left the crew vulnerable to small arms fire and artillery. Despite its limitations, the Möbelwagen played an important role in defending German units from Allied air attack during the later stages of the war.
Border Model's 1/35 scale Möbelwagen includes both metal and PE parts, as well as a crew figure. As well as four different camouflage and marking schemes, the turret can be built in three different configurations - two open, and one closed. There are also two different hull options (of the base Panzer IV) to choose from.
