The Panther G was a late-war variant of the renowned German Panzer V Panther tank, introduced in 1944 and regarded as one of the most effective medium tanks of World War II. It was equipped with a high-velocity 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun, capable of penetrating most Allied armour at significant ranges, giving it a substantial edge in tank versus tank engagements. The Panther G also had improved frontal armour, which provided better protection against enemy fire, and featured enhanced mechanical elements to address reliability issues present in earlier models.

With its well-balanced combination of firepower, mobility, and protection, the Panther G was effective in both offensive and defensive operations. Its design influenced post-war tank development, but high production costs and resource limitations put a cap on how many could be fielded. Despite these challenges, the Panther G earned a reputation amongst both Allied and German forces as one of the most advanced and efficient tanks of the war, though logistical constraints ultimately limited its impact on the war's outcome.
