The Ju 88P-1 was a specialized variant of the German Junkers Ju 88, developed during World War II for the role of ground attack and anti-tank warfare. This version of the multi-role bomber was modified to carry a 75mm PaK 40 anti-tank gun mounted beneath the fuselage. The Ju 88P-1 was designed to target heavily armoured vehicles, such as Soviet tanks, but the addition of the large cannon made the aircraft heavy and less manoeuverable, significantly impacting its flight performance.

Despite its powerful armament, the Ju 88P-1 faced operational challenges, including vulnerability to enemy fighters and difficulty aiming the large, cumbersome gun during attacks. The strain of the added weaponry also reduced the aircraft's speed and agility. As a result, the Ju 88P-1 was produced in limited numbers, and its role in anti-tank operations was eventually replaced by other aircraft better suited for the task. Nevertheless, the Ju 88P-1 remains an interesting example of Germany's experimental efforts to adapt existing aircraft to meet the changing demands of the battlefield.
