The Tiger I was a German heavy tank used during World War II, renowned for its powerful 88mm gun and thick armour. Introduced in 1942, it was designed to dominate enemy armour and fortifications, providing superior firepower and protection compared to Allied tanks.

After the Tiger I had been in service for a while (and a number had been captured, especially on the Eastern Front), ways to upgrade the design - particularly the main gun - were looked at by both sides in the conflict.

Takom's 1/35 scale Tiger I Sd.Kfz.181 Pz.Kpfw.VI.Ausf.E Experimental project 3 in 1 (and, breathe!) model kit allows you to recreate any one of three such possible upgrades. Metal barrels, and clear parts are included, as is PE for maximum detailing. The main gun options include the long barrelled 88mm, seen on the Tiger II, a Soviet 100mm, and a Czech 75mm.
